Spiritual perspective and internal resources in anxiety, worry, and pain

This year, I am reading daily the lessons from A Course in Miracles rather than the text. Lesson #41 is one of the most powerful so far I am sharing fragments.

💙 “God goes with me wherever I go. Depression is an inevitable consequence of separation, so are: anxiety, worry, a sense of helplessness, and intense fear of loss. The separated ones have invented many cures for what they call “the ills of the world” […]

What are we separated from? From God, Holy Spirit, from our Souls. The opposite of that state is Oneness. The remedy: stop focusing on pain; we can’t recover by analyzing darkness. We need to refocus on the Light and see everything from that perspective.

💙 “Deep within you is everything that is perfect. It will cure all sorrow, pain, fear, and loss because it will cure the mind that thought these things are real. […]”

Waste no time, see yourself as a Holy Child of God who is lost only for a moment. This verse asks us to go within, but this is exactly what is hardest to do. We have resistance, we want to look for external solutions, we attach ourselves to external and material “remedies”, but that only prolongs pain. In the end we need to return to ourselves. What seems to be the hardest looks like creating a moment of peace, doing “nothing”, paying attention to the heart. Let go of the fear of looking within.

💙 “You can never be deprived of your perfect holiness because the Source goes with you wherever you go. You can never suffer because the source of all Joy goes with you wherever you go. Nothing can destroy your peace of mind because God goes with you wherever you go.”

Do you remember God, just as God remembers you? In the dark night of the soul you might believe God abandoned you, but it’s impossible. More likely you have removed God from your life.

💙 “We understand you do not believe all this. How could you, if the truth is hidden deep within you under a heavy cloud of insane thoughts, dense and obscuring, yet representing all you see? Today, make an effort to get past this dark cloud and go through it to the light beyond. […]”

The light is within you… always.
