Why people don’t heal (while they can)

I write this from a mind-body medicine perspective, not strictly medical and biological. As you go through this list remember that there is a remedy to each of these obstacles.

  1. We don’t heal when we don’t know WHAT EXACTLY there is to heal.
  2. We don’t know HOW
  3. We don’t give ourselves a chance. (we may need more TIME, but we try something and give up, if we don’t see the results fast enough)
  4. We don’t make the connection between the mind and the body.
  5. We don’t connect the dots between what we do, and the consequences. For example, what we eat and the condition caused by the food.
  6. We strongly reject, judge, and even hate a negative part of ourselves (which looks like rejecting and judging that trait in OTHER people. Hello mirror) The result: we are fragmented. Healing is about wholeness. (this is a process I can help with)
  7. Our healing is one-dimensional: we mainly focus on the physical factor (pills, surgeries), ignoring the emotional, mental, and spiritual factors. Or we only focus on the spiritual while the physical aspect would take care of it in no time.
  8. We have no faith.
  9. We have such strong beliefs that changing the mind would feel like death (that’s just fragile ego) aka cognitive dissonance.
  10. We are stuck in negative emotions like anger, and resentment (big one!), victimhood and we do nothing to heal it.
  11. There is a benefit to being sick (social: you can manipulate family through this, financial: your financial aid will go away if you heal)
  12. You feel unworthy of healing (you might have been programmed into guilt and unworthiness, or this condition runs in your family, and you feel this is your destiny)  This program needs to change before healing can take place.

Finally: just because we know what could be the reason we don’t heal, it doesn’t mean it is easy from that point on.

Healing is a journey to wholeness. We need to discover and recover the broken, disowned parts of ourselves. That alone requires commitment and courage. From that place, we learn to love those parts.

Healing could happen as a result of instant revelation, but most often we need to work for that revelation.

We could say healing is a path of self-love. As Anita Moorjani, who had a miraculous remission from cancer, said:

“Love yourself like your life depends on it. Because it does.” (from “Dying to be me”)

If you believe in mind-body connection but you are not sure how to use it to support your healing, I can help. You can schedule your first session of Medical Hypnotherapy here  https://calendly.com/jopr

(You can schedule one at a time. Improvement is not linear, it is recommended 4-12 sessions depending on your condition)
