Reignite your spiritual practice in Nature (video)
What can you do if
you crave a connection with your soul,
but you are not ready for regular meditation?
My favorite way is to connect with my inner voice in Nature, reading spiritual books with a space for contemplation and many forms of meditation.
In this video I share:Â
- What makes this a spiritual practice? (after all hundreds of people go to the mountains every day just to exercise)
- What are the three necessary elements? Presence (being here and now), Silence (you want to hear your voice, not someone else’s) Practice – making it a ritual.
- Experiencing timelessness even when you don’t have eternity. Vertical time and horizontal time.
- Inner observer
- Letting go of “doing it well.”
- Mental screenshots instead of photo shots (one requires to be present, the other disconnects us from ourselves)
- A mountain and a path as a metaphor. (Estes: levels of the mountain represent levels of mastery)
- How can we recognize ourselves in the external landscape
The three authors who helped me experience nature in a new way:
- Bill Plotkin who wrote “Soulcraft. Crossing into the mysteries of Nature and Psyche.” He observes that in nature there is a place of belonging for everything and everyone.
- Martha Beck: “Finding your way in a wild new world.” (the audiobook is fantastic)
- And the countless stories of Clarissa Pinkola Estes.
It’s your unique experience
Different teachers advise us on how to create our spiritual practice. There are countless of practices…. but what will come from this, will be so unique to you, that it would be wrong for anyone to tell you what to expect.Â
Yes, you will hear your inner voice and reconnect with your truth.
You will have your small and big awakenings.Â
You will find inspiration and great ideas.Â
You will know yourself better.Â
But first, you practice for practice’s sake. Not expecting anything except expecting yourself to keep coming back to it.
Only you can take yourself to the peak of the “Mountain.”
What will come from this will be unique to you. That’s the reason it’s so hard to describe the inner spiritual experiences. And that’s good. This way we can keep it a secret and we can keep it sacred.
